Odalys City Marseille Centre Euromed is visible from afar, in the Joliette district. Its bluish silhouette, designed by architect Jean-Baptiste Pietri, dominates this new face of Euroméditerranée, between newly built corporate headquarters and old docks converted to new uses.

It is easy to get there: two metro stops from Saint-Charles station, on line 2, which reaches Joliette in just a few minutes. The Old Port, by contrast, requires a little more patience, about a fifteen-minute walk, or a quick metro ride for those who do not have time to stroll. We are not in the heart of postcard Marseille, but in a district that is reinventing itself before your eyes, calmer than the summer bustle of the Terrasses du Port.

Reception remains open day and night, useful for late arrivals, those following a delayed flight, or a final business meeting that runs late. Eleven floors up, the apartments begin, from the 23m² studio to the one-bedroom for four people, with a balcony in some.

In the rooms, nothing superfluous: a wide bed (160 or 180 cm depending on the category), a kitchenette with hob, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, enough to improvise dinner without going back down. The bathroom, with its shower cubicle and towel warmer, is more practical than polished. A safe, a flat-screen television, and wifi that reaches every corner of the building.

In the morning, head to the buffet for warm pastries, fresh fruit, and freshly squeezed juices, served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The only drawback is that there is an extra charge to enjoy it, as breakfast is not included by default. Those who prefer to take their time can also make coffee in their kitchenette and delay departure by an hour.

On the ground floor, a lounge with a large bookcase makes you want to settle in for a while before heading back into the city. Below, the wellness area: sauna, hammam, and an indoor pool where you can do a few laps before breakfast or after a day of appointments.

To go out, Le Panier is not far, nor is Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, which watches over the city from its hill. The Vélodrome stadium, meanwhile, is about a ten-minute drive away.

One last tip: book your pool slot early in the morning, before 9 a.m.; it is peaceful, and the light filtering through the wellness area is well worth it.
