The Love Room of Mont d'Or is a little away from the hustle and bustle of the Old Port, on the Septèmes side, on the heights of the 15th arrondissement.

You arrive there at nightfall, or almost, at the time when you no longer really feel like crossing paths with anyone. A private parking area awaits just in front of the gate. Check-in is fully self-service: a code, a short video, and the door opens without a word exchanged with anyone. Just the two of you, already.

As soon as you step inside, your eye falls on the hot tub, placed almost in the center of the room, for two, with subdued lighting playing on the water. The toiletries, set out on the edge, smell great, the kind you take time to discover before slipping into them together, skin against skin. The room remains modest in size, the spa bathtub takes up a good part of the space, but it is precisely this tightness that creates the effect: you are pressed against each other, with no possible distance, with no large space in which to lose yourselves.

As the evening goes on, a stocked bar waits in a corner, a few drinks within reach, and the minibar is included with the room. The wifi works smoothly, enough to put on a more subdued playlist than the one from the car ride. The large bed awaits the next step. Outside, a small terrace overlooks the garden, quiet and not overlooked, where you can step out for a moment, barely dressed, without crossing anyone other than the neighborhood’s silence.

The neighborhood, for its part, bears no resemblance to the ochre facades of the Old Port. Here you are in residential Marseille, about ten minutes by car from the center, far from the lively alleyways and the terraces of La Canebière. This address takes a little effort to reach on arrival, but in return it offers a silence you will not find a stone’s throw from the port, ideal for thinking of nothing but each other.

One detail gathered from stays: the air conditioning sometimes needs a little patience to start up, so it is best to turn it on as soon as you arrive in the late afternoon, so the room is at a comfortable temperature before things get serious. And if it resists, a message is enough; the owner replies quickly, even on a Sunday with the family.
